From advising customers and stock management to logistical processes and working at the till, you’ll always keep on top of things and ensure everything runs smoothly.

Here’s what you’ll find in your day-to-day work in your new retail role:

  • Customer advice and sales: You’ll assist customers with their queries and find suitable solutions.
  • Product display and shelf maintenance: You’ll ensure an attractive product display, correct pricing and consistent availability of our products.
  • Cashier duties: You’ll process payments reliably and accurately.
  • Goods receipt and inspection: You’ll work closely with the logistics team to handle the receipt, storage and quality checks of products.
  • Compliance with quality and hygiene standards: You’ll ensure cleanliness, freshness and tidiness in the sales area.
  • Teamwork: You’ll work closely with colleagues from other departments and the logistics team, and everyone supports one another in day-to-day operations.

Education and qualifications

For the role of retail assistant, it is an advantage if you have completed a vocational training programme or have professional experience in the food retail sector or another area of retail, although a career change is also possible.
 We find the following particularly helpful:

  • A completed apprenticeship as a retail sales assistant or in a similar field
  • Initial professional experience in the sales sector or in customer service
  • Knowledge of cash register systems and stock management
  • German language skills appropriate to the role and a confident manner


Income, salary, hourly wage

In your role as a retail assistant, you’ll enjoy fair working conditions and a secure salary.
The collective agreement provides for a gross monthly salary of at least €2,251 (full-time), depending on your qualifications and professional experience.
